Traditional School Choice
-
Dear JEFCOED Family,
Students that want to attend traditional school will begin returning to their classroom in the near future. It was never our intention to stay parked in remote learning. As I said from the beginning, we would attempt to bring smaller groups of students back before the end of the first nine weeks.
We plan to bring students back in three groups. Each group will follow an A/B schedule for approximately two weeks. After that time, students will return to class five days a week.
Again, let me emphasize that this is only for students who want a traditional option. Remote Learning will continue for those students who choose that path.
A/B Schedule:
Monday/Tuesday: Students with last names beginning with A-L
Wednesday: All students remote, schools are cleaned
Thursday/Friday: Students with last names beginning with M-Z
Student Groups:Pre-K & Exceptional Education (Self-Contained)
Week of September 21st - A/B Schedule
October 5th - Five Day Week
Elementary Schools: Grades K-2, 3-5, K-4, K-5, or K-6
September 28th - A/B Schedule
October 12th - Five Day Week
Secondary Schools: 6-12
October 5th - A/B Schedule
October 19th - Five Day Week
Transportation will be provided. Masks will be required for faculty, staff, and students. We are going to do everything possible to keep students, teachers, and staff safe during our return. However, flexibility is going to be key. I appreciate your patience and understanding as we move forward. Look for more communications from the district and individual schools in the near future.
Sincerely,
Dr. Walter Gonsoulin
